Pemerintah Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang: Bumi Muda Sedia Pulih dan Bangkit — Informasi Terbaru

In the past month, the box office has experienced a notable surge due in part to the massive success of The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As the summer of movies continues, this weekend promises to be just as exciting with the release of a diverse array of films, including The End of Oak Street and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. For those preferring to spend their weekend indoors, we've curated a list of some must-watch movies available to stream on Netflix, Prime Video, and Peacock. Whether you're a fan of comedy, drama, or action, there's something for everyone in this lineup.
One of the highlights of the weekend is Minions & Monsters, a spin-off of the popular Despicable Me and Minions franchise. Directed by Pierre Coffin, the film follows a tribe of Minions as they take over Hollywood, becoming major silent film stars in the 1920s. However, their rise to fame is short-lived, as their inability to speak English marks the beginning of the end. As the talkies become the norm, the Minions are forced to seek out new opportunities, and they soon find themselves working as monsters in a series of low-budget horror films. According to Pierre Coffin, the Minions' loyalty to their employers is unwavering, having pledged their allegiance to a variety of historical figures, including Dracula and Napoleon Bonaparte. This adds a rich layer of depth to the film, as the Minions navigate the ups and downs of Hollywood and beyond.
Another standout film is Michael, a biopic about the life and career of Michael Jackson. Directed by John Landis, the film provides a sterilized look at the King of Pop's rise to fame, from his childhood as a member of the Jackson 5 to his success as a solo artist during the Bad World Tour. The film ends abruptly, however, leaving out the more tumultuous periods of Jackson's life, including the numerous allegations of sexual assault and financial mismanagement. Nevertheless, the film offers a glimpse into the making of one of the most iconic music videos of all time and the behind-the-scenes of Jackson's most successful tour.
For fans of Shakespeare, there's Hamlet, a modern retelling of the classic play. Directed by Thomas Huchon, the film takes a dark and gritty approach to the Bard's classic tale, set against the backdrop of modern-day London. The story follows Prince Hamlet as he returns home for his father's funeral, only to discover that his uncle Claudius has married his mother. This sets Hamlet on a path of revenge, as he navigates the complex web of relationships and power struggles that surround him.
Documentary enthusiasts will be thrilled with Jackass 4, a farewell tour from the Jackass crew. The film compiles some of the franchise's best stunts, as well as some new ones, while also paying tribute to the late Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera, who left the crew years ago due to his struggles with substance abuse. The film promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, with Johnny Knoxville getting visibly choked up in the trailer and decades-old archival footage tugging at the heartstrings of long-time fans.
Lovers of coming-of-age stories will appreciate Girls Like Girls, a film that explores the complexities of female relationships. Directed by Sage Donato, the film follows Coley, the new girl in town, as she forms an instant connection with popular girl Sonya. As the two girls spend more time together, they begin to analyze their relationship and what it really means to them.
This is not the case with Girls Like Girls though the title and description are identical in this list, as Netflix's latest coming-of-age story follows Sunny Sandler, Adam Sandler's daughter, as she takes the lead in her high school musical production. However, at home, Sunny learns that her mother's cancer has reappeared, marking a turning point in her life.
