As we bid farewell to the week and welcome the weekend, we've rounded up the top 10 movies streaming on Peacock, Netflix, and Hulu. It's the perfect opportunity to unwind, relax, and indulge in a good film. From horror to romance, animation, and thrillers, there's something for every taste and preference.

The horror genre is taking center stage this weekend with two massive hits from Peacock and Netflix. First, there's Obsession, the directorial debut of Curry Barker, a spine-tingling tale of a young man who's desperate for love. He finds a mysterious trinket that seems to grant his wish, but soon realizes that true love can be a scary thing.

The other standout horror movie is the Backrooms, directed by the incredibly talented 20-year-old Kane Parsons. Based on his YouTube videos, the film is set in the 1990s and follows Clark, a frustrated architect who discovers a terrifying space in his store's basement. As he delves deeper into the mysteries of this eerie realm, he uncovers secrets that challenge his perception of reality.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Backrooms is its unique take on the concept of liminal spaces. Parsons expertly weaves together themes of existential dread, disorientation, and the blurring of boundaries between reality and the unknown. The film's visuals are equally striking, featuring a haunting blend of commonplace objects and architecture that create a sense of disquiet and unease.

Another movie that's making waves this weekend is The Bay, a shark-themed thriller that's tailor-made for summer viewing. This aquatic adventure follows two best friends whose tour boat sinks in a shark-infested sanctuary, and they must rely on each other to stay alive. With its classic blend of thrills, action, and suspense, The Bay is sure to captivate audiences.

For fans of romance and drama, Heartstopper is the perfect pick. This Netflix original movie is based on the popular web series and explores the complex relationships between Nick and Charlie, two young men who find love in a world that often tries to tear them apart. As their story unfolds, they face challenges from their families, friends, and even within themselves.

Jinsei is another animated movie that offers a fresh and captivating viewing experience. This Japanese sci-fi film follows an unnamed hero as he explores different paths and incarnations over the course of 100 years. From a J-pop idol to an oracle, a leader, and more, Jinsei presents a rich tapestry of characters and storylines that will keep viewers engaged.

Christian Petzold, a celebrated German director, returns with Mirrors No. 3, a poignant drama that explores the human condition through the story of a piano student who survives a car crash and finds solace with a local family. With its thought-provoking themes and nuanced performances, Mirrors No. 3 is a must-watch for anyone interested in character-driven cinema.

Boxing enthusiasts will love They Fight, a gritty and inspiring movie about a reformed ex-convict who returns home to rebuild his life. As he finds a job working with a coach to train a group of young boxers, this underdog story shows how redemption can be achieved through perseverance and dedication.

Based on the video game of the same name, Exit 8 is a psychological thriller that poses a chilling question: what if you were stuck in an endless loop of a subway stop with no way to escape? This movie adaptation takes the game's digital corridors and gives them a visceral, real-world meaning, revealing the universal fears and anxieties that we all experience.

Willem Dafoe delivers a standout performance in The Souffleur, a gripping drama about a hotel manager in Vienna who finds himself embroiled in a battle of wills with a ruthless real estate developer. As Dafoe's character's world begins to unravel, he must confront the dark forces that are driving him to the brink of madness.

Lastly, Is God Is is a revenge story like no other, following twins Racine and Anaia as they seek vengeance against the man responsible for their traumatic childhood. Based on Femi Oyediran's novel of the same name, this movie adaptation features outstanding performances and a compelling narrative that explores themes of trauma, identity, and sisterhood.
