15 New Routes In Only 4 Days: Where Alaska Airlines & Breeze Airways Fly Now

Between June 10 and 13, Alaska Airlines, Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines collectively inaugurated a considerable 15 routes. While some have been served before, seven have not had nonstop flights in the past. Meanwhile, others that previously had flights were unserved at the time of the launch.

The 15 additional markets were identified by using Cirium Diio data to examine each US airline's full network between January 1, 2025, and June 9, 2026. This was then compared to what is available from June 10 until June 16, 2026, with no new or returning links planned for June 14-16. Some of the launches will make the weekly celebratory new routes article (see last week's edition here).

On Wednesday, June 10, oneworld member Alaska Airlines introduced five of the six routes. They were Anchorage International Airport (ANC) to Boise (two weekly 737-800 and 737-900ER) and Spokane (two weekly Horizon Air Embraer E175), along with Portland International Airport (PDX) to Jackson Hole (two weekly SkyWest E175), Seattle Paine Field (daily Horizon Air E175), and Pasco (two daily Horizon Air/SkyWest E175).

Two of the markets are brand-new; they have never had any nonstop flights before. They're ANC to Boise and PDX to Jackson Hole. According to the US Department of Transportation (DOT), 41,000 round-trip passengers flew between the largest cities in Alaska and Idaho last year. Obviously, nearly everyone flew Alaska (76%) via Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) or PDX. In contrast, ANC to Spokane was briefly served in 2016, while PDX to Pasco last had flights in 2018 and those to Paine Field existed until 2022.

On Saturday, June 13, Alaska took off from ANC to Boston (weekly 737 MAX 8). Covering 2,940 nautical miles (5,445 km) each way, it is the airline's new third-longest nonstop service on a narrowbody to date. With a maximum block time of seven hours and 53 minutes, it ranks third in this sense, too. It is another brand-new market. 43,000 passengers flew indirectly last year, with Alaska having nearly half of the market (47%).

The Anchorage to Boston service will be offered this summer.

The following table summarizes the additional links operated by Breeze, Delta, and United. They include two international markets: Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Nassau and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Halifax.

One of 14 international routes Breeze plans to operate this year, TPA to Nassau is the carrier's new shortest service beyond the US border. It is also Breeze's first international route from TPA. The airline will launch four more non-US services from the Florida airport later this year. It'll have more such routes from TPA than any other carrier. But due to the low frequencies, it will only rank third for the number of departures, behind Air Canada and Copa Airlines.

It is worth noting that Delta, using its regional unit, has launched three routes from its fast-growing Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) focus city. They started shortly after the carrier took off from AUS to Kansas City. They contribute to Delta having 9% more departures from the Texas capital this month, up by 9% year-over-year.

A whopping 47% of the links have not previously had nonstop flights, which is a significant proportion in what is a very mature market. Of course, the network strategy of Breeze, in particular, revolves around such opportunities.

Let's focus on Pensacola to SAT. This is Breeze's third route from Alamo City. The airline returned to SAT in May 2026, having pulled out four years earlier. Pensacola joins existing routes from Memphis and Raleigh/Durham.

The DOT shows that 25,200 round-trip passengers flew between Pensacola and SAT last year. Southwest carried the most passengers (34%), with most people obviously connecting at Dallas Love and Houston Hobby. Pensacola was SAT's third-largest unserved market within a 600 nautical mile (1,111 km) radius, behind Memphis (now served) and Tulsa.
