ABC's 20/20 Delves into the Infamous Jacob Wetterling Case: A Story of Tragedy, Resilience, and Justice

(Undated)--ABC is airing a new episode of 20/20 entitled "Where are you, Jacob?" tonight (Friday) at 8 p.m.

The program will look at the tragic and decades-long kidnapping case of 11-year-old Jacob Wetterling from St. Joseph who went missing on Oct. 22, 1989.

The episode features a first-time 20/20 interview with Aaron Larson, the childhood survivor and best friend who was with Jacob the night of the abduction and helped break the case wide open decades later. 

The broadcast chronicles the chilling night of the abduction, the 27-year mystery, and the investigation that eventually caught the perpetrator.

Jacob was kidnapped and murdered by Danny Heinrich who confused to the crime.  Heinrich is serving a 20-year prison term as part of a plea deal to bring closure to the case.
