Aces vs. Wings Prediction: Will Las Vegas Continue Their Winning Streak?

Ajaya Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces are on fire, winning six games in a row. Their winning streak could continue if they beat the Dallas Wings on Monday night, potentially securing a spot in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup championship game.

The Las Vegas Aces have the tiebreaker for the top spot in the West, as long as they don't lose their next two games. In their last game, they defeated the Minnesota Lynx, which sets them up for a strong position in the league.

The last time the Aces lost was on May 28 against the Dallas Wings. The Wings are in an 8-5 overall record and 7-3 in their last 10 games. Notable players on the Wings' team include Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, and Jessica Shepard, who each had 20 or more points in their win over the Aces earlier in the season.

Oddsmakers have set the Wings as home dogs in this matchup. However, the Aces are an impressive 7-1 on the road this season, with three wins on their current winning streak.

Let's take a deeper look at the odds, a prop bet, and my prediction for this Commissioner's Cup battle.

Paige Bueckers has been an exceptional 3-point shooter this season, hitting 42.9 percent of her shots from beyond the arc. In seven of 12 games, she has had multiple 3-pointers, including a 2-for-6 showing against the Aces. The Aces have struggled to defend the 3, ranking 14th in opponent 3s made per game and 13th in opponent 3-point percentage.

Given Bueckers' performance and the Aces' defensive struggles, she should clear the 3-point shot attempts line, especially if she takes enough shots from deep. In her last two games, she has had 12 3-point attempts.

In my WNBA Best Bets column, I shared why I believe the Aces will win their seventh game in a row. The Aces' lone road loss this season was to the Dallas Wings, but the Wings have dropped two of their last three games, losing badly to Minnesota before a one-point loss to Portland.

I'm buying Las Vegas in this matchup, even though their net rating (plus-6.3) isn't as dominant as you'd expect for a team on a six-game winning streak.

The Aces are 6-7 against the spread (Dallas is 8-5), so I'm forgetting the points and simply taking A'ja Wilson and company to win outright. A win would likely secure the top spot in the West for the Commissioner's Cup for the Aces, who have the No. 1 offense rating in the league.

The Dallas Wings (6th in defensive rating) have improved on their defensive end, allowing just over 83 points per game. However, they are only 2-4 straight up against the four teams ahead of them in the standings, with two of those losses coming by double digits.

I like this young Wings team and expect them to make the playoffs, but I'm going to bet on the Aces extending their winning streak with their insane offense run that they've been on. The Aces' offense rating is 113.4 for the season and 118.1 during this winning streak.
