Adam Alis Gives Surprising Response After Becoming Cristiano Ronaldo's Rival

Adam Alis, the talented midfielder from Persib Bandung, was taken aback when he discovered his name on the list of nominees for the Magic Moment of the Season AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) 2025/2026.

The nomination, released by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), pits Adam Alis against some of the biggest names in football, including Al Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo and Kingsley Coman.

Adam revealed that he only found out about the nomination after being tagged by numerous fans on social media.

"At first, I was shocked. Many people tagged me, and I discovered that I had been nominated for the Magic Moment of the Season by the AFC. I'm competing against Cristiano Ronaldo and Kingsley Coman," Adam said on Sunday (7/6/2026).

The moment that earned Adam a spot on the nomination list was his dramatic goal against Selangor FC in the group stage of ACL Two last season. Persib made an incredible comeback after being down by two goals and eventually won 3-2.

Adam's second goal, scored in the seventh minute of injury time, sealed the win for Persib and brought them to the top of Group G. This moment was chosen by the AFC as one of the candidates for the Magic Moment of the Season.

Although he is proud to be compared to world-class players, Adam believes that the support of the fans, known as bobotoh, has been the key factor in his nomination.

According to him, the enthusiasm of the bobotoh has demonstrated the great strength that has always characterized Persib Bandung.

"Of course, I'm happy and proud. But I also want to thank the bobotoh for their support in this nomination. This is the power of the bobotoh, who have been backing me up all the way," he said.

Adam has been monitoring the progress of the voting, which is being conducted by the AFC. So far, the support from the bobotoh has enabled him to take a significant lead over other competitors in the nomination.

Notably, Adam even mentioned that the bobotoh's support has been able to match the popularity of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has hundreds of millions of followers on social media.

For Adam, this is proof that the loyalty and unity of the bobotoh are among the best in Asia.

"Although we can't beat Cristiano Ronaldo's number of followers, we can still beat him in this nomination. The bobotoh are truly the best," he said.
