Alcaraz vs Sinner in the Monte-Carlo Final: A Battle for the Crown

The Monte-Carlo Masters final is not just a title match - it's a battle for the world number one spot.

CARLOS Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will face off in a thrilling final that will determine the winner of the Monte-Carlo Masters and the world's top-ranked player. In this exclusive interview, Alcaraz shares his thoughts on the tournament and his goals.

"I think it's a dream come true for all tennis players," Alcaraz said, as quoted by the ATP. He aims for his second Monte-Carlo title, while Sinner targets his first win in the tournament.

Alcaraz, the defending champion, has been dominating the world rankings since his US Open win last year. Although Sinner briefly took over the top spot, Alcaraz reclaimed his position and has been the world's number one for over a year.

'I'm not used to the pressure of being number one,' Alcaraz confessed, acknowledging the weight of expectation to maintain consistency at the top level.

In contrast, Sinner has a relatively easier task ahead, with only 1,950 points to defend during the European clay-court season. This gives him a better chance of taking over the top spot, provided he can pull off a surprise win over Alcaraz.

'We've put in a lot of work to improve our skills, particularly our serves and returns," Sinner said, looking at the match as an opportunity to gain momentum before the French Open.

Interestingly, Alcaraz holds a 10-6 head-to-head advantage over Sinner, with a 3-1 record on clay courts. This could prove a crucial factor in the final.
