Andreeva Takes Down Parks, Faces Swiatek in Stuttgart Quarterfinals

Mirra Andreeva is set to face Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

This will be their fourth meeting since 2022.

This match marks the first time Andreeva and Swiatek will face each other on clay.

Andreeva outlasted Parks 7-6(3), 6-3 in a first-round matchup.

The win marked Andreeva's sixth straight victory, extending her unbeaten streak on clay this season.

Andreeva is now through to her fifth quarterfinal of the 2026 season, where she will face top-seeded Swiatek for the fourth time.

This will be their first meeting on clay.

The two have previously faced off three times on hard courts, with Swiatek winning their 2024 Cincinnati quarterfinal matchup 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Andreeva went on to claim victories over Swiatek in the 2025 Dubai quarterfinals and the Indian Wells semifinals.

Andreeva had little to say about her strategy going into the match against Swiatek.

'I'm just going to try to have a chat with Conchita,' Andreeva said.

'She's an incredible player, but I'll approach this match like any other.'

'I think she has a great record on clay, so I'm curious to see how it plays out.

'It's indoor clay, so it's a bit different, but I'm pretty excited.'

In her previous match against Parks, Andreeva faced one of the hardest hitters on the WTA tour.

This was the second consecutive time she'd faced a big-serving opponent.

Andreeva had beaten defending champion Jelena Ostapenko in her opening match.

She gave up just one game to Parks in their previous meeting at the US Open last year.

Andreeva put pressure on Parks immediately, smashing an aggressive forehand in the first game to take control.

She dominated the first set, but Parks fought hard to stay in the match.

The two players went back-and-forth, each breaking the other's serve multiple times.

Parks earned herself a tiebreaker after trailing 5-3, saving two set points in the process.

The turning point came after Andreeva forced an error on a Parks serve to take the first set.

Andreeva started the second set strong, breaking Parks' serve twice to take a 4-1 lead.

Parks managed to break back once, but Andreeva sealed the win for the second time in the match.
