At a time when many actors would be content with a steady stream of low-key projects, Anne Hathaway has been on a mission to prove that she's still one of the most exciting and versatile talents in Hollywood. With a string of high-profile movies lined up throughout 2026, Hathaway has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
The 40-year-old actress has had a remarkable year, with her latest film, End of Oak Street, joining a string of other releases, including The Odyssey, Devil Wears Prada 2, and Mother Mary. But what's truly remarkable about this stretch of releases is the sheer range of genres and themes that Hathaway has tackled. From the family-friendly horror of End of Oak Street to the epic adventure of The Odyssey, Hathaway has proven herself to be a consummate professional, taking on roles that challenge her and push her to new heights.
In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hathaway spoke candidly about her packed 2026 slate, admitting that she was initially overwhelmed by the amount of work she had lined up. 'When I got my schedule for this year from all the wonderful film studios that I've worked with, I saw it and I kind of thought I was being punked,' she laughed. 'But then they showed me that no, no, no, all these [release] dates were going to hold and I just said as long as audiences don't get sick of my face — which I wouldn't blame them, I would not blame them if they did — let's go.'
The End of Oak Street, directed by David Robert Mitchell, sees Hathaway starring alongside Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery as a family trying to survive when their neighborhood mysteriously uproots and they find themselves surrounded by dinosaurs. Speaking about the film, Hathaway noted, 'I think it's fun. Obviously I love making movies, take a look, but I also love that audiences want to go see original things and this movie is really original. It's David Robert Mitchell in the director's chair, directing a script that he wrote, and I've never seen anything like this so I was just really happy to be a part of it.'
But Hathaway's 2026 slate isn't just about big-budget blockbusters; she's also set to write and produce a big-screen adaptation of Caro Claire Burke's smash novel Yesteryear, a bestselling tradwife satire that's spent 17 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Speaking about the project on the carpet, Hathaway noted, 'That's been a really fun discovery because I read a draft two years ago and I knew the intense feeling that I had for it, so it's been really fun watching people discover it. I have friends writing me, they're like 'What, how?' People are just loving it and I couldn't be happier for Caro, what a triumph for her. And now we just have to do the movie justice.'
As Hathaway continues to dominate the screen, it's clear that she's not slowing down anytime soon. With a range of high-profile projects in the works and a reputation for being one of the hardest-working actors in the business, Hathaway is sure to remain a major force in Hollywood for years to come.
