Apple iPhone Fold/Ultra May Have Been Delayed to Next Year

Recent leaks have hinted at the arrival of Apple's iPhone Fold/Ultra, sparking excitement among fans. However, new reports from companies within the Apple supply chain suggest that the launch may be pushed back to early next year.

Largan Precision's CEO, Lin En-ping, has mentioned that the fourth quarter of this year will be busier than usual, with some new products expected to be launched in the third quarter and others postponed to early next year. Analysts believe this refers to the iPhone Ultra/Fold.

While it's still possible that Apple may unveil the iPhone Fold/Ultra at the September event, announcing it as a 'coming soon' device with a later release date, it's also possible that the launch may be further delayed. Apple has previously followed this strategy, as seen with the iPhone X.

Another possibility is that Apple will split the iPhone 18 reveal into two parts, unveiling the Pro models in September and releasing the vanilla iPhone 18, 18e, and Air in the spring of 2027.

In any case, the delay may impact Apple's position as a top-three foldable player in 2026, but the market analysts still predict that the iPhone Fold will ship 11 million units in its first year.
