Argentina's National Team Faces Injury Crisis Ahead of 2026 World Cup

The Argentina national team is facing a major setback due to a series of injuries that have hit several key players just five days before their friendly match against Honduras at Kyle Field in Texas on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The medical staff led by coach Lionel Scaloni are under immense pressure to monitor the recovery of their stars, including striker Julian Alvarez, who has complained of pain in his ankle during training, and goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who has suffered a fractured pinky finger.

Other players who are undergoing intense observation include defenders Nico Paz, Gonzalo Montiel, Nahuel Molina, and Nico Gonzalez, as well as midfielder Leandro Paredes, who will miss the first two friendly matches due to a hamstring issue.
