Ayrton Senna's Iconic McLaren MP4/6 F1 Car Up for Auction, Price is Stunning!

The legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna has a strong emotional bond with McLaren, and it was with this British team that he won three F1 world championships. One of the cars that helped him achieve this feat, the McLaren MP4/6, is now up for auction by RM Sotheby's.

According to RM Sotheby's official website, the car being auctioned is the original MP4/6 that has survived for over 30 years. What's even more astonishing is the price tag that comes with it.

RM Sotheby's has set the price between $12 million and $15 million. Translating this to Indonesian Rupiah, the iconic F1 car is valued between 200 and 250 billion Rupiah, making it a truly pricey possession, even for a special car like this.

In terms of appearance, the car still retains its original standard features, such as the distinctive red and white livery that was synonymous with McLaren during the 80s and early 90s.

From a technical standpoint, the car still boasts a 3.5-liter V12 NA engine with a manual transmission. The RA121E engine, supplied and produced by Honda, is also the last Honda-powered car to win an F1 world championship before Max Verstappen and Red Bull's victory in 2021.

Prior to the auction, the car underwent regular inspections to ensure it remains in prime condition. These inspections were carried out by Lanzante Ltd, and the car also comes with a McLaren Certified of Authenticity.

Aside from helping Senna secure his third and final world championship in 1991, the car also holds fond memories, such as Senna's triumphant win at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix, which is often regarded as one of his best performances.

Before the auction, the car will be showcased at an event in Abu Dhabi in early December. For all you car collectors out there, are you tempted to bid on this extraordinary vehicle?
