Banjar Regency Government Ensures Quick Technical Handling of Aramco Pengaron Bridge

MARTAPURA - The Banjar Regency Government is ensuring that the process of handling the condition of the Aramco Bridge at Pengaron Subdistrict is ongoing and moving towards the finalization of technical planning by the Public Works and Spatial Planning and Land Agency (DPUPR).

This step is part of the government's efforts to ensure the safety and smoothness of transportation for the public on the route connecting Pengaron and Kertak Empat Subdistricts.

Based on the on-site inspection results by the technical team, it was found that the foundation of the bridge had sunk by about 20 centimeters due to river erosion caused by the flood that occurred at the beginning of 2026. Although this is the case, the results of the inspection showed that the main structure of the bridge, made of steel, is still in good condition.

Since the early identification of this condition, the DPUPR of Banjar Regency has taken preventive measures, including on-site technical studies, soil condition investigations, and the installation of safety signs and warning signs around the location to increase the awareness of road users.

The Head of DPUPR of Banjar Regency, Anna Rosida Santi, through the Head of the Civil Engineering Division, Jimmy, stated that the government is currently waiting for the presentation of the technical planning results from the consultants.

'Insya Allah tomorrow (16/3) we ask the consulting planners to present their results. The results will then become the basis for the physical handling in the field,' he said on Sunday (15/3).

In addition to the bridge's condition, the government is also conducting monitoring of the landslide area on the Pengaron-Kertak Empat Road, which is located near the bridge. This monitoring is done to ensure that the solution provided covers the entire condition of the infrastructure in the area.

Based on the initial estimate from the technical assessment, the budget required for the bridge's foundation repair is estimated to be around IDR 4 to 5 billion. Considering the stages of regional development planning and the availability of budget in the current year, the physical work on the bridge is planned to be proposed in the Regional Development Program in the 2027 APBD.

At the district level, the Acting Pengaron Subdistrict Head, Heryanto, stated that the subdistrict office is also examining the possibility of using a secondary route through a village road in the Kertak Empat area as an additional transportation access for the public. However, the use of this route still requires further coordination to ensure that it takes into account the carrying capacity of the village roads.

'The signs have been installed, and heavy vehicles have been diverted through the village road in Kertak Empat,' he said.

The Banjar Regency Government reminds the public to remain vigilant when crossing the area and to comply with the posted warning signs. The restriction on vehicle loads, particularly for heavy vehicles, is also expected to help reduce the risk of structural damage to the roads or bridge.

The Banjar Regency Government emphasizes that every infrastructure handling is carried out based on mature technical studies so that the solution provided can provide long-term safety for the public.
