The Independence of the US Department of Justice: Todd Blanche's Uncertain Pledge
The Importance of an Independent US Department of Justice: Understanding Todd Blanche's Remarks

As the heatwave continues to grip France, Minister of Education Edouard Geffray has provided an update on the upcoming DiplĂ´me National du Brevet (DNB) exams, scheduled to take place on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The heatwave has led to the closure of 1,352 schools and colleges, with an additional 4,042 institutions adjusting their schedules. Despite the challenges, the majority of bacheliers will sit their orals at the scheduled time. However, 5,233 candidates have been rescheduled to take their exams in the morning this week or next, as announced by the minister.
In response to a question about the DNB exams, Geffray clarified that 'everything that takes place in the morning can take place in the morning.' This is especially relevant, as colleges will be closed starting Wednesday to facilitate the organization of exam halls, providing a shaded refuge from the heat.
Despite this assurance, the SE-UNSA union has pointed out that there is still a possibility of the exams being postponed. Geffray has scheduled a meeting with the union on Tuesday, June 23, to discuss possible decisions regarding the DNB exams. This could potentially include adjustments for exam markers, although the minister has not ruled out a complete postponement.
