Cape Verde Stuns Spain with Thrilling World Cup Draw

Cape Verde pulled off one of the greatest World Cup shocks in history as they held Spain to a thrilling 0-0 draw in their Group B opener.

The minnows, who were making their World Cup debut, were considered massive underdogs against one of the favourites for the trophy.

But they proved their doubters wrong with a valiant display, with goalkeeper Vozinha producing a series of stunning saves to keep the scoreline deadlocked.

Despite dominating possession and creating a string of clear-cut opportunities, Spain were unable to breach the Cape Verde defence.

Cape Verde, meanwhile, looked like a team on a mission, with their never-say-die attitude inspiring the sold-out crowd at the Estádio Nacional in Mindelo.
