Charles Leclerc Seeks Answers from Ferrari After Disappointing Performance in Miami

Charles Leclerc is demanding Ferrari investigate the team's disappointing performance at the Grand Prix in Miami.

The Ferrari driver asked for an explanation behind the team's subpar performance, particularly with the new upgrades brought to the circuit after a five-week break in the F1 season.

A high level of expectation surrounded Ferrari ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, but it turned out to be a disappointing weekend for the Italian outfit.

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton finished the race in sixth place with a heavily damaged car, while Leclerc who led the early stages of the race eventually ended up eighth after receiving a 20-second time penalty for a late spin.

'We were not strong on the medium tyre, my tyre degradation was very, very big,' said Leclerc to the media, including Crash.net.

'On the hard tyre, at the beginning it was not good but then it improved a bit and it was slightly better, but we never reached the level we had on Saturday.'

'We need to look into it. Our performance dropped drastically from then on, and I want to understand exactly what happened.'

Although Leclerc is convinced that Ferrari's new upgrades worked as expected, he suspects that the rival teams might have done a better job.

'The upgrade package worked, and what's important is that the other teams were also working on it, and maybe their upgrade package was a bit better.'

'We have got more upgrades coming, and hopefully, that will help us to come back a bit to the front. It's all about fine details, especially on this generation of cars, especially in the first year, it's all about development.

'So, we need to make sure we're doing everything perfectly in terms of development.'

Leclerc's poor performance resulted in him losing ground in the championship, currently positioned in third place, 41 points behind leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

He also trails Lando Norris and his teammate Lewis Hamilton by just eight points.
