Chowchilla Native Asterisk Talley Secures Team USA's Curtis Cup Victory

The United States has emerged victorious in the Curtis Cup, defeating Great Britain and Ireland with a score of 12-7 at the prestigious Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

Asterisk Talley, the youngest player in the competition and the only high schooler, made a significant contribution to the U.S. team's effort with a win against Davina Xanh from Cal State Fullerton.

Talley, a native of Chowchilla who has committed to play for Stanford in 2028, won her match 2 and 1, helping Team USA reach the clinching point total.

According to Talley, the team's strategy was to focus on having fun and supporting each other, rather than feeling pressured by the possibility of winning or losing.

This victory marks the U.S. team's first win in the biennial women's amateur team competition in four years.

The Americans now lead the series 32-9-3, which dates back to 1932.
