College World Series Game Time Pushed Back Due to Weather

The College World Series game between Georgia and Texas on Saturday has been pushed back due to a weather delay.

Originally scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET, the game will now begin at 8:45 p.m. ET at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

A lightning warning was issued at around 6:20 p.m. ET, prompting the grounds crew to cover the field with a tarp.

Rain started pouring down a few minutes later, halting the game and prompting an official weather delay announcement at about 7:20 p.m. ET.

After the rain let up, the grounds crew quickly removed the tarp, allowing Georgia and Texas to start warming up on the field.

Other games at Charles Schwab Field on Saturday were affected by the weather, with Oklahoma taking on Alabama, who lost 9-0 and will face the loser of Georgia-Texas on Monday afternoon.
