Crews have made significant progress in containing the Stevenson Ranch fire, one of three major blazes burning in Los Angeles County.
The fire, which erupted on Monday afternoon in the Santa Clarita Valley, threatened homes and prompted evacuation orders for nearby residents. Thankfully, fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control within hours, with officials stating that the forward progress of the fire was stopped after it had burned 45 acres.
As of Monday night, the blaze was reportedly 40% contained, with no reported damage to structures or loss of life. The evacuation orders issued for homes near the Pico Canyon Elementary School area have since been lifted.
Another two fires broke out in the area on Monday, with the Rock fire burning 95 acres in the Antelope Valley and the Hazel fire consuming over 60 acres in a nearby area. While the cause of the fires remains under investigation, residents can rest assured that emergency services are working tirelessly to ensure public safety.
