Cristiano Ronaldo Confirmed for Portugal's World Cup 2030 Bid as 'Perfect Career Finale'

Cristiano Ronaldo is predicted to challenge the effects of aging by participating in the 2030 World Cup with Portugal, possibly alongside his son, at the age of 45. Al-Nassr player Ronaldo received support from his former Manchester United teammate, Eric Djemba-Djemba, to secure a "perfect career finale".

As Ronaldo prepares for his sixth World Cup Finals appearance this summer, the conversation has shifted to how long he can continue playing at the highest level. Despite most players typically considering retirement at this stage, the Al-Nassr star continues to exceed expectations, netting 30 goals in 37 appearances this season and leading his team to a Saudi Pro League title.

Djemba-Djemba, the former Manchester United teammate of Ronaldo, is confident that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner doesn't intend to slow down. Discussing the long career of his former teammate, Djemba-Djemba told BetVictor: “I truly believe Cristiano Ronaldo can play until the age of 44 or 45. I'm completely not surprised by what he does because I've known him since he was 17.”

The prospects of Ronaldo participating in the 2030 World Cup are significant, given that the tournament will be co-hosted by Portugal. Djemba-Djemba pointed out that the unique psychological boost provided by the forward sets him apart from any athlete in the history of sports, making his appearance in 2030 a realistic goal, rather than a mere fantasy.

“We train together every day, and even after training he always wants more,” added the former midfielder. “He's obsessed with improving and competing. I've never seen a mindset like his before. If Cristiano Ronaldo is still playing when the 2030 World Cup takes place in Portugal, I'm certain he should be on the squad.”

The most romantic aspect of this potential career extension is the chance for Ronaldo to play alongside his eldest son, Cristiano Junior. The 15-year-old has already caught attention at Al-Nassr's academy and was recently linked to Real Madrid.

Djemba-Djemba is sure that this father-son duo will be the greatest fairy tale in the world of football. He stated: “It will be a perfect ending for his career and a remarkable moment for Portuguese football. And imagine if Cristiano Jr is there too. It will be incredible. It will be very difficult for his son to reach the same level because Cristiano Ronaldo is on a different level, but it will still be a beautiful story.”

Cristiano Jr has already begun following in his father's footsteps by scoring his first goal for Portugal's U-16 team. Despite intense speculation about his move to one of Europe's elite academies, his primary focus remains on his development in the same environment as his father in Saudi Arabia.

With Ronaldo Sr showing no signs of physical decline, the chances of them playing together professionally are growing. Whether it happens in the Saudi Pro League or on the biggest stage in 2030, the five-time Champions League winner appears committed to keeping his professional dream alive until the next generation is ready to take over.
