Critical Condition Update: Big Bear's Beloved Bald Eagle Jackie Recovering After Terrifying Fight

As the Big Bear region holds its breath in anticipation of Jackie's recovery, wildlife experts are working round the clock to stabilize her condition. Jackie, the matriarch of the beloved Big Bear bald eagle family, was involved in a brutal fight with two other eagles last week, leaving her with severe injuries and a long road to recovery. Despite the challenges she faces, Jackie remains a symbol of hope and resilience for animal lovers and wildlife enthusiasts worldwide.

The recent bloodwork tests conducted on Jackie revealed that she is experiencing severe anemia and inflammation affecting her kidneys. Her condition remains critical, but wildlife experts at the Ojai Raptor Center remain hopeful that with proper treatment, she can overcome this ordeal. The center's team of specialists has been providing Jackie with the best possible care, and her alert state and willingness to eat are positive signs that she may yet pull through.

Jackie's rescue was a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation's San Dimas Raptor Rescue team and wildlife experts. The team successfully located Jackie near Dana Point Park, shortly after she was involved in an altercation with two subadult eagles. After providing her with preliminary treatment, they transferred her to the Ojai Raptor Center for further care. San Dimas Raptor Rescue officials reported that Jackie was 'very sick' at the time of rescue, with no visible physical injuries, but she was skinny and underweight.

Friends of Big Bear Valley, a nonprofit organization highlighting the wildlife in the region, has been keeping Jackie's fans updated on her condition. In a social media post, they shared a quote from a wildlife expert, stating that 'due to the incredible bond Jackie and Shadow have, it would be unlikely for him to move on now.' This bond between Jackie and Shadow, her male partner, is a testament to the strength and resilience of their love for each other.

As Jackie continues her recovery journey, the Big Bear community remains hopeful that she will pull through. The region's famous Bald Eagle Nest Cam, operated by Friends of Big Bear Valley, has been a focal point for wildlife enthusiasts and animal lovers.
