Critical Fire Weather Conditions Warned for the Region June 16

Critical fire weather conditions are expected to affect the region today and Wednesday.

The combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create conditions that are conducive to extreme fire behavior.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Fire Weather Zones 691 Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and 691 Lower Columbia Basin of Washington until 11 PM PDT this evening.

Winds will be west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, while relative humidity is expected to be as low as 20 percent.

Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly, and outdoor burning is not recommended.
