D23 has once again descended upon the Anaheim Convention Center, and the biennial convention has brought with it a weekend of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar content. The event has taken over the show floor with a plethora of announcements for upcoming films, shows, and exclusive content from Disney's major brands. One of the most notable announcements came from Marvel Studios, which had a booth promoting major MCU releases like Avengers: Doomsday and VisionQuest.
Fans received major updates on these projects, as well as news regarding the X-Men movie reboot, during the studio's Friday night showcase. The panel was hosted by Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' President, who was joined by Paul Bettany (Vision) and James Spader (Ultron) to discuss their characters. The trio was followed by a live-action trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which has since been released online.
The X-Men casting rumors were confirmed when Sadie Sink appeared alongside Feige to announce that the reboot, directed by Jake Schreier, will be released on May 5, 2028. Sink was joined on stage by her X-Men cast members, including Kit Connor (Cyclops), Inde Navarrette (Rogue), Samara Weaving (Emma Frost), Maya Boyd (Storm), and Christopher Abbott (Charles Xavier), as well as Adam Driver (Mister Sinister), who appeared via video message.
Star Wars fans were equally excited by the announcements that came from the Disney Entertainment Showcase. Ahsoka Season 2 was confirmed for a January 20 release date on Disney+, with a live-action teaser trailer released during the panel. The star-studded cast, which included Dave Filoni, Rosario Dawson, Eman Esfandi, and Hayden Christensen, discussed the new season, which they described as 'massive' and threatened by the 'Imperial Remnant.'
The panel also shed light on Star Wars: Starfighter, an original theatrical film directed by Shawn Levy. The film's exact release date was revealed as the same weekend the original Star Wars was released 50 years earlier. Gosling, who plays the lead role of Kade, teased on stage that his character is a 'guy from the wrong side of the galaxy' whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built.
Pixar Animation Studios also took center stage, announcing a range of upcoming films and shows. The showcase included a sneak peek into Incredibles 3, which promises to be the final installment of the beloved franchise. According to Pete Docter, Pixar's Chief Creative Officer, the film will 'round out the trilogy of the Parr family,' with a time jump and an exciting new villain.
The Incredibles 3 panel also provided a look into Coco 2, a sequel to the original film that Docter described as 'a story that needed to be told.' Benjamin Bratt, who voiced Ernesto de la Cruz in the first film, returned to the stage to confirm his involvement in the sequel. Coco 2 takes place a couple of years after the first film and follows Miguel as he teams up with his enemy to stop Ernesto from seeking revenge.
The panel also announced a Coco-themed world for the upcoming video game Kingdom Hearts 4, with Bratt confirming his return as Ernesto in the game. A TV series adaptation titled Kingdom Hearts: The Series was also announced for Disney+, with a 'coming soon' notice.
Pixar also showcased its brand-new original film, Ghost Market, releasing in Spring 2028. A clip showed a young boy, Kyle, a content creator, venturing into a bar with a spooky atmosphere. The film is described as Pixar's 'very first ghost movie.'
Disney's Acquisition of Fox Studios has also led to the release of a new installment in the Ice Age franchise: Ice Age: Boiling Point. The cast members, including Queen Latifah and Denis Leary, took the stage to introduce the movie, which promises to be 'really funny and scary.' A clip from the film previewed the misadventures of Manny, Ellie, Sid, Diego, Scrat, and Baby Scrat as they journey through the jungle and beyond.
The D23 2026 Panel also brought attention to Disney's streaming service, with an update on Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The cast, including Walker Scobell (Percy), Ming-Na Wen (Hera), and Andra Day (Athena), took the stage to tease the upcoming season, which promises to be darker and action-packed. Dafne Keen, who plays Artemis, also joined the panel, discussing her character and the Hunters of Artemis.

The panel also brought news on Disney's upcoming live-action adaptations, including Tangled, which is set for a March 21, 2028, release. New footage showcased Milo Manheim, Teagan Croft, and Kathryn Hahn in their roles as the film's leads. Hahn, who plays Mother Gothel, shared that her character is 'the best kind of villain,' who 'thinks she's actually the hero.'
Hollywood's busiest star, Anne Hathaway, also joined the panel to discuss The Princess Diaries 3, which is currently in development. Hathaway reiterated that the film is a priority and promised to bring the 'same magic' as the original.
The Disney Entertainment Showcase wrapped up with a performance by the cast of Zootopia 2.
