A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by former Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money member Dawn Richard against music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
The lawsuit, which was filed in September 2024, alleged that Combs had groped Richard on multiple occasions, once trapped her inside a locked car for two hours as a form of punishment, and threatened her life.
However, U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla dismissed all 18 of Richard's causes of action against Combs, citing that most of the claims were outside the statute of limitations.
In a statement, Richard's lawyer Arick Fudali said the team plans to refile the case in New York state court.
"We certainly agree with the Judge that the allegations in this case are execrable," Fudali said. "We are encouraged and look forward to pursuing our primary claim filed under the gender motivated violence act in State Court in NYC, per the judge's decision."
Judge Katherine Polk Failla dismissed Richard's sexual abuse and breach of contract lawsuit against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, but the singer's lawyer plans to refile the case in New York state court.
