Dodgers Fans Name Player of the Week: Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, or Max Muncy?

It's been a rollercoaster week for the Los Angeles Dodgers, with highs and lows across their games.

The team kicked off the week with a tough loss to the Angels, but bounced back with a big win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

However, they managed to blow a 6-1 lead on Wednesday, making their performances somewhat uneven.

Despite these mixed results, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Max Muncy still managed to shine, but only one can take the title of player of the week.

In a fan poll, it was no surprise to see Yamamoto as the top pick - and for good reason!

On Saturday, Yamamoto nearly made history, pitching a perfect game through 7.2 innings before a costly error by Mookie Betts, and he even took a no-hitter into the ninth inning.

In his impressive 8.1 innings, he threw 109 pitches, striking out seven while allowing only one hit, which was a solo home run, and he had zero walks.

Fans took to the comments to praise Yamamoto's incredible performance, with many backing him for player of the week.

“Gotta be Yamamoto!” wrote @michael.gingras., “Yamamoto for almost getting a no-hitter,” said @suttajit.

As noted by one commenter, all three players put in a fantastic week, with Ohtani striking out six against the Pirates and also hitting .313 with three home runs and six RBIs.

Muncy also did well, hitting .389 with two homers, six RBIs, and an OPS of 1.410.

While Ohtani and Muncy's performances were certainly impressive, it's difficult to argue with what Yamamoto achieved all things considered.
