Capcom is making significant changes to Dragon's Dogma 2, discontinuing the Deluxe Edition and several microtransactions on June 25th.
The base game will also receive a permanent price cut on the same date, although the new price has not been disclosed.
These changes come ahead of the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, which is set to introduce a new region, dungeons, and more when it launches on October 26th.
The Deluxe Edition and various microtransactions will no longer be available for purchase on any platform from June 25th.
However, players who have already purchased these items will still be able to access and use them in-game after they are delisted.
Only two DLC packs will remain available for purchase: the Explorer's Camping Gear and the Music and Sound Collection custom sounds.
The removal of the Deluxe Edition and microtransactions is seen as a move to provide a clean path ahead of the highly-anticipated Dark Arisen expansion.
This expansion is being positioned as a more complete version of the game, introducing the frozen northern region of Norgan, twelve new dungeon challenges, and a host of new enemies, weapons, and other additions.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam as downloadable content, while the Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a standalone version that includes both the base game and the expansion.
