Dramatic F1 Incident in Australia Not Broadcasted on TV

A high-stakes situation unfolded during the Australian Grand Prix as Franco Colapinto narrowly avoided a collision with Liam Lawson. The potentially hazardous incident was not captured in the initial broadcast replay of the race. In a last-ditch effort to avoid a crash, Colapinto veered sharply to the right to avoid Lawson's lagging Racing Bulls car, which was hidden behind other vehicles.

The starting procedure was revised before the new season to allow drivers to prepare adequately. The new procedure includes a five-second period for turbo warm-up, but the lights suddenly went out, a glitch described by Charles Leclerc as 'odd.'

Colapinto finished the race in 14th place after serving a stop/go penalty for his team member touching his car after the 15-second signal was given, one spot behind Lawson who finished 13th. However, reflecting on the incident, the Argentine driver felt 'fortunate' to have escaped a serious accident.

'I nearly had a big accident with Liam because he was stuck in the grid, and I'm really lucky to have made it through the first lap,' Colapinto told the media, including RacingNews365. 'I'm really lucky, and we know things can happen with these new cars, but the video shows that the situation was very hazardous and quite tense.'

'I'm grateful to have made it through, although I did tap the barriers slightly with the rear right, but overall, we struggled with speed this weekend, and we hope to be much better after testing in Bahrain. It was a tough afternoon,' he added.
