Dynamo FC Bid Farewell to Ezequiel Ponce as He Embarks on New Chapter in La Liga with Elche CF

It is with a mix of nostalgia and excitement that Houston Dynamo FC announces the transfer of forward Ezequiel Ponce to Elche CF in Spain's La Liga. This move marks a new chapter in Ponce's illustrious career, and Dynamo FC wishes him all the best in his future endeavors. The transfer was officially confirmed by both clubs on August 14, 2026, a day that will be etched in the memories of Dynamo FC fans. The Argentinian forward had been an integral part of the team, scoring 15 goals and recording three assists in his 59 appearances for the Dynamo, who signed him on a full transfer from AEK Athens in Greece in June 2024.

Ponce's time at Dynamo FC was marked by significant milestones and achievements. He played a crucial role in the team's stellar 2024 campaign, where they set new single-season Club records in points (54) and road wins (8), while allowing the third-fewest goals across MLS play (39) and recording 10 clean sheets across all competitions. The team's performance was impressive, and Ponce's contributions were instrumental in their success. His departure comes at a poignant moment, as the Dynamo currently sit fourth in the Western Conference standings, just two points away from the top spot, and are the hottest team in the Western Conference over the past 12 matches, compiling an 8-2-2 record for 26 points over that stretch.

The transfer of Ponce marks a significant shift in the team's dynamics, and it will be interesting to see how the team adapts to his absence. The Dynamo will undoubtedly miss Ponce's creative spark and goal-scoring prowess, but they have a talented roster that will strive to fill the void. As Dynamo FC looks to the future, they will be hoping to build on the momentum they have gained in recent matches. With a strong team and a motivated player, there is no reason why they cannot achieve great things in the remaining part of the season.

Looking back at Ponce's time at Dynamo FC, it is hard not to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. He arrived in Houston with a promising portfolio, and his performances over the past two years have more than justified the team's investment in him. As he embarks on this new chapter in La Liga, Ponce is sure to face stiff competition, but his talent, determination, and experience will undoubtedly serve him well. Dynamo FC fans will be following his progress with great interest, cheering him on from afar and eagerly anticipating his return to the MLS in the future.

Ponce's move to Elche CF is a significant coup for the Spanish club, which is expected to benefit greatly from his experience and expertise. As a seasoned professional, Ponce brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the table, and he is sure to be an asset to the team. With his signing, Elche CF will no doubt feel more confident in their ability to compete with the bigger clubs in La Liga. As for Ponce, he is relishing the opportunity to test himself against the best in the business and to contribute to the team's success.
