Ejae to Perform Official 2026 FIFA World Cup Anthem 'DNA' at Opening Ceremony

Ejae, the singer-songwriter behind the global breakout hit 'Golden' from Netflix's animated series 'KPop Demon Hunters,' will perform the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, 'DNA,' at the tournament's opening ceremony this Thursday in Mexico City, as announced by soccer's governing body, FIFA.

Ejae is among the four featured artists on 'DNA,' sharing the stage with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, French DJ and producer David Guetta, and American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The four artists will deliver the anthem's first-ever live performance as the World Cup officially kicks off.

The ceremony will precede the opening match of the tournament, which will feature Mexico against South Africa at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Adding a personal touch, Ejae also penned the Korean-language lyrics for 'DNA,' including a powerful line about resilience and overcoming setbacks. "It's especially meaningful because I was able to write the Korean lyrics for the song. Representing South Korea on this stage is such an honor," Ejae shared in a statement.

FIFA released the official anthem, 'DNA,' on Wednesday, just one day before the highly anticipated tournament begins.

This year's World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marks a historic moment as the first to feature 48 participating teams. The tournament will span across 16 cities and conclude on July 19.
