The Maine moose permit lottery drawing is a unique opportunity for hunters to secure a permit to participate in the main moose hunting season. The process is governed by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, with a fixed number of permits available each year. These permits are allocated through a random drawing, which takes place on the first Saturday in September, at the Acton Fairgrounds.

For those who can't make it to the Acton Fairgrounds, a solution has been devised. Local radio stations, Bennett Radio Group and Channel X Radio, have partnered to broadcast the event live, allowing anyone with a radio or an internet connection to participate in the excitement. Channel X Radio will carry the broadcast on 97.7 FM and 102.3 FM, in addition to streaming it at ChannelXRadio.com. The station will announce lottery winners from Aroostook County.

WOXO Radio will also carry the broadcast on 92.7 FM and 100.7 FM, as well as stream it at WOXO.com. This station serves listeners in Lewiston-Auburn and western Maine, and will announce lottery winners from Oxford and Androscoggin counties. With this extensive coverage, it's possible for everyone to join in the excitement and learn the results of the lottery drawing from the comfort of their own homes.

The lottery drawing is set to take place on the first Saturday of September, commencing at 1 p.m. The broadcast will run from noon to 4 p.m., providing ample opportunity for listeners to learn the outcome of the draw. Those applicants who miss the broadcast, or live in areas outside the covered counties, can view the complete list of lottery winners on the Bangor Daily News website starting at 6 p.m. on the same day.
