Jakarta - Formula 1 legend Ralf Schumacher has come to the defense of Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar, who faced scathing criticism from Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko.
Ralf Schumacher stated, 'I don't know what's shameful about tears, but yes, we know Helmut, and he clearly didn't mean it like that,' as quoted by Motorsport.
Isack Hadjar, a rookie who made his debut at the Australian GP, was involved in an accident that forced him to drop out of the race.
Following the incident, Hadjar was seen leaving the Albert Park circuit in tears, only to be comforted by Anthony Hamilton, the father of Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.
Anthony Hamilton said, 'When I saw what happened to Isack, my heart sank, and I could only feel what he was going through.' He added, 'It's heartbreaking to see him, because I know how tough it is for kids who start at the age of eight and dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver.'
After the race, Helmut Marko criticized Hadjar for showing excessive disappointment, saying that he shouldn't have cried in public.
Hadjar is now preparing for his second grand prix, which will take place in Shanghai.
