The outcome was an emotional moment for Colapinto after several recent races hadn't gone as smoothly. The race in Shanghai didn't get off to an easy start for Colapinto. He had to start from the middle of the grid and face tight competition from numerous drivers of mid-tier teams.

Throughout the race, Colapinto demonstrated consistency in maintaining his rhythm and managed his tires well. A well-timed pit stop also helped the Argentine driver remain in contention for a top-ten finish until the final laps.
