Discover the final ranking of the 2026 F1 Catalan Grand Prix, marked by Lewis Hamilton's historic victory, his first with Ferrari, ahead of George Russell and Lando Norris.
More than a year after he donned the mythical Ferrari combination, taking the bold gamble to leave the comfort of Mercedes and after navigating an arduous year of doubts, Lewis Hamilton triumphs at last on the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit. A historic delivery for Maranello, which had not tasted victory since the Mexican Grand Prix 2024 with Carlos Sainz. For the Briton, this success puts an end to a 686-day drought, his last top-three finish dating back to the Belgian Grand Prix 2024. The seven-time world champion is pushing the frontiers of motorsport history by taking his absolute record to 106 F1 victories.
Already on Saturday, the weekend seemed to smile on number 44, qualifying in the first row for the first time in his new colors. Racing on soft tyres to try and overtake poleman George Russell, Lewis Hamilton was not able to get ahead of his compatriot at the lights out. But luck eventually turned in favor of the most titled driver in history. As his tyre strategy had already paid off, the deployment of a virtual safety car (VSC), resulting from Fernando Alonso's retirement, definitively offered Hamilton his first triumph in red.
This triumph allows Lewis Hamilton to consolidate his second place in the general classification, cruelly contrasting with the apocalyptic end of the championship leader. Yet extremely incisive from lights out, despite a warning for track limits, Kimi Antonelli saw his Grand Prix collapse into a nightmare at only four laps from the chequered flag, betrayed by his engine. A brutal knockout blow for the Italian, who sees Hamilton return to only 41 points from the championship leader. Classified 16th, despite not crossing the finish line, the young driver also earned a 5-second penalty for exceeding track limits.
Not all is black for the Silver Arrows, however, as George Russell secures a solid second place, while Lando Norris completes a 100% British podium after benefiting from the mistakes of the Italian.
