Hadjar Skeptical of Red Bull's Upgrade in F1 Miami GP

Isack Hadjar downplayed the impact of Red Bull's performance upgrade in the Miami Grand Prix.

Hadjar stated that the upgrades made by Red Bull will not "solve all our problems" as the 2026 Formula 1 season resumes in Miami.

Red Bull had a poor start to the 2026 season and the new regulation era, sitting sixth in the constructor standings, 119 points behind leader Mercedes after the first three rounds.

The Milton Keynes-based team is among those introducing a series of updates to their 2026 cars this weekend, but Hadjar has tempered expectations about the impact it will have.

"I'm not expecting to fight for the podium this weekend," said the 21-year-old French driver about Red Bull's prospects for the weekend.

"Of course, we're not the only team bringing updates. Clearly, we're bringing something much stronger, in our opinion, but I don't think it will solve all our problems.

"I hope we can easily get into Q3, for example, because we've struggled to get there so far. That would be a step forward. And I also haven't driven, like the others, for five weeks, so with only one session before the Sprint Qualifying, it will feel a bit awkward at first. But yeah, let's see."

Formula 1 has concluded its five-week mandatory break after the double-header in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia was canceled due to the Iran war.

Hadjar admitted that he struggled with the lack of racing and was eager to return to F1.

"I think it's just because I've been away from the circuit for five weeks, it's starting to make me very eager," he said.

"Honestly, I just want to get back and race. Obviously, I miss the racing part, but I miss the competitive aspect more.

"So yeah, I just want to get back. The long wait has been enough for me to be in that mindset and try to compete again."

Hadjar has scored four of Red Bull's 16 points, with his best result being eighth in China.
