Honda and McLaren Collaborate on Senna Forever Event

Honda and McLaren collaborated to host the 'Senna Forever' event at the Interlagos Circuit in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on November 3, 2024. This special event took place ahead of the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix on November 2, 2024.

The 'Senna Forever' event honored the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna's passing. Being the hometown of Ayrton Senna, Sao Paulo has hosted the Sao Paulo Grand Prix since 1980, and it has been the scene of two of Ayrton Senna's victories with the McLaren Honda team in 1991 and 1993.

During the 'Senna Forever' event, Honda and McLaren showcased the legendary McLaren Honda MP4/5B F1 car, which was driven by Ayrton Senna during the 1990 season and clinched the world championship.

Honda has a long history in Formula 1. As the first Japanese manufacturer to participate in F1 in 1964, Honda has collaborated with the McLaren team in two eras. Their first partnership took place from 1988 to 1992 and resulted in four consecutive world championships from 1988 to 1991. Their second partnership from 2015 to 2017 marked Honda's return to F1 in the modern era.

For the 2024 F1 season, Honda is continuing its technical partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB), providing power units to both teams.
