How to Watch Belgium vs Egypt Live at the FIFA World Cup 2026

The Belgium and Egypt national teams are set to face off on Monday (15) in the first round of Group G at the FIFA World Cup 2026. The match will take place at 4pm (Brasilia time) at the Lumen Field in Seattle, USA, with Brazilian referee Ramon Abatti Abel in charge.

Born as one of the favorites in Group G, Belgium occupies the 9th place in the FIFA rankings. After the disappointment of the 2022 World Cup group stage, the Red Devils are expected to make a strong start under Rudi Garcia. The team maintains experienced players like Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku, as well as young and emerging players.

Egypt, ranked 29th, returns to the World Cup after a four-year absence and hopes to reach the quarterfinals for the first time in its history. Mohamed Salah, who turned 34 in June, leads the attack alongside Omar Marmoush. Egypt's team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, arrived at the tournament undefeated in African qualifying matches.

Born in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Belgium will likely start with Courtois; Meunier, Ngoy, Mechele, Castagne; Onana, Tielemans (captain); Doku, De Bruyne, Trossard; De Ketelaere. Defender Zeno Debast is injured and unavailable for defense.

Egypt is also adopting the 4-2-3-1 formation: Shobeir; Hany, Ibrahim, Fathy, Aboul-Fetouh; Lasheen, Attia; Salah (captain), Ashour, Ziko; Marmouch. The speed of Jeremy Doku will face the creativity of Mohamed Salah, and Marmoush's goal-scoring ability could play a significant role in the match.

A Belgian victory could put them in provisional first place in Group G, which also includes Iran and New Zealand. Egypt must score to avoid complicating its chances of qualifying for the knockout stage, as the second-placed team will need to fight for qualification.

Historically, the teams faced each other in a friendly match before the 2022 World Cup, with Egypt winning 2-1. Belgium, however, has been in better form in recent times and is considered the favorite by bookmakers and simulations.

In Brazil, the match will be broadcast on TV Globo, SporTV, GE TV, Globoplay, and YouTube Cazé TV. Lumen Field, home of Seattle Sounders, will host its first World Cup match.

Referee Ramon Abatti Abel, from Santa Catarina, will officiate his first World Cup and has participated in the Olympics and the Club World Cup. He will be assisted by Brazilian Danilo Manis and Rafael Alves.
