Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto recently held a phone call with the Netherlands' Prime Minister Rob Jetten to discuss international cooperation and various regional and global issues. According to the Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia, Marc Gerritsen, the conversation between the two leaders focused on the importance of maintaining security and prosperity in the region and beyond.

The discussion also covered the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Indonesia and the European Union, as well as the ongoing situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Ambassador Gerritsen noted that despite the turbulent global situation, Indonesia and the Netherlands continue to work together to strengthen their bilateral relations.

Both countries share close cultural and historical ties and collaborate in various fields, including trade, water management, and sustainable agriculture. The Netherlands' government views Indonesia as a like-minded partner in a rapidly changing world.

President Prabowo's visit to the Netherlands in 2025 marked a significant milestone in the two countries' relations. During his visit, he was officially received by the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, and Queen Máxima at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague.
