Isack Hadjar Defended by Ralf Schumacher Amid Criticism for Crying

Formula 1 legend Ralf Schumacher came to the defense of Racing Bulls' Isack Hadjar, who was mercilessly criticized by Red Bull's advisor Helmut Marko.

\"I didn\’t know what was embarrassing about tears, but yeah, we know Helmut, and he clearly didn\’t mean it that way,\" Schumacher said, quoted from Motorsport, Thursday (20/3).

The rookie, who made his debut in the Australian GP over the weekend, failed to finish the race after being involved in an accident.

Hadjar, who failed to continue racing afterwards, left Albert Park circuit with tears in his eyes.

The 20-year-old driver was later comforted by Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton's father, Anthony Hamilton.

\"The problem is, as soon as I saw what happened to Isack, my heart broke and all I could feel was what he went through,\" Hamilton said.

\"It was heartbreaking to see him, because I know how hard it is for kids who start racing at eight years old and dream of becoming Formula 1 drivers,\" he added.

After the race, Marko fired a scathing criticism against Hadjar, saying that the French-born driver's expression of frustration was too over-the-top.

Marko said that it was not right for Hadjar to show excessive frustration that ended up in tears outside the circuit.

Hadjar is now in preparation for his second Grand Prix in Shanghai this weekend.
