Isack Hadjar Overcomes Engine Drama to Secure First Red Bull Podium

At the Grand Prix Monaco, Isack Hadjar faced a tough challenge in his quest for his first Formula 1 podium with Red Bull.

A series of setbacks, including an accident during the first practice session, threatened to derail his chances. However, he managed to bounce back, securing a strong fifth place in qualifying.

In the race, Hadjar faced yet another hurdle in the form of engine issues, which left him struggling with handling and a reduced power output. Despite these setbacks, he persevered and ultimately secured a third-place finish behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton.

Red Bull Team Principal, Laurent Mekies, praised Hadjar for his determination and composure in the face of adversity, saying, "It wasn't an easy weekend for Isack. Clearly, he had a significant downturn in FP1 when his car had an accident. The team did an fantastic job in repairing the car and giving him time in FP2. A few minutes before FP2 started, Max was already inside the car and ready to go, and all the mechanics were trying to get some time with Isack in those few minutes they had before Max had to leave. It was an extraordinary effort."

Mekies also acknowledged the difficulties Hadjar faced in the race, saying, "He was in a very, very tough situation. The energy management was a major issue, and he had to deal with a lot of problems."

Hadjar reflected on the challenges he faced, saying, "I think since the start, maybe from Lap 12, I was already struggling with handling, and the car was becoming very difficult to drive."

He added, "In Monaco, especially here, you can't just use first and second gear, and that's where the problem was. It was very difficult to drive. The engine power was down at some points."

Despite the difficulties, Hadjar managed to salvage a podium finish, which Red Bull deemed satisfactory, especially considering their minor infractions were overlooked by the FIA.
