A Regina, Saskatchewan native, Bear's career has been marked by standout performances, including leading the Hershey Bears in scoring during the 2024-25 season. He was also named to the AHL All-Star Game and selected to the league's Second All-Star Team. Bear's experience will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the Islanders' team.
Born and raised in Canada, Bear began his junior career with the Seattle Thunderbirds and eventually made his way to the NHL. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Draft. Throughout his career, Bear has demonstrated exceptional skill, earning recognition as the WHL Defenseman of the Year and a WHL championship.
