Knicks' NYC Championship Parade: Get Ready for the Big Celebration!

The celebration has finally begun!

The city of New York is preparing for what could be the largest championship parade in history to honor the New York Knicks.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the parade dates after the team's incredible NBA Finals victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

City officials started preparing for the major event soon after the team's clinching win on Saturday.

'It may well be the largest parade in New York City history,' Mamdani said. 'And I think that speaks to what this team means to this city. It also speaks to 53 years of waiting.'

The parade will start at 10 a.m. and travel about a mile north on Broadway through the Canyon of Heroes before reaching City Hall, where a ceremony will be held and players will be awarded keys to the city.

Finding a spot along Broadway would give fans the best view of the parade.

The morning will bring humid conditions with temperatures expected to reach the mid-80s. Thunderstorms could roll in the late afternoon or early evening.

More information about security measures, specific street closures, and possible performances are expected later in the week before Thursday's festivities.
