Lewis Hamilton Bounces Back from Criticism: Reviving with Scuderia Ferrari in the New Era of F1 2026

Hamilton claims he is now in a much better mental and physical state, finding that he fits perfectly well with the new 2026 regulations and the lighter, more agile Ferrari SF-26 car. He feels this combination opens up opportunities for him to reclaim victory.

The biggest change, according to Hamilton, is his attitude. He has chosen to disregard external criticism and focus on his abilities instead.

'I don't let empty talk from the outside affect me. I know who I am and what I can do,' he stated.

The 41-year-old driver also emphasized that he never lost confidence, despite appearing inconsistent last season. He sees this phase as a natural part of an athlete's journey.

'I didn't lose confidence last year. It's part of the process. What's important is how you bounce back—and that's what I did on my own,' he explained.

Hamilton has even increased his training intensity, revealing that he has run up to 100 kilometers during racing sessions and feels he's the only driver putting in such an amount of effort currently.

In addition to personal factors, Hamilton enjoys the changes in the F1 character with the new era. He believes the latest generation of cars enable tighter, more authentic racing without relying on systems like DRS.

'This is one of the best cars I've had the pleasure to drive in the past 20 years. You can follow close to other cars and stay competitive,' he stated.

Hamilton's view differs from that of his rival, Max Verstappen, who expressed frustration with this season's racing dynamics. Hamilton attributes the differing perspectives to their individual competitive environments.

'When you have a competitive car, it's more enjoyable. Personally, I thoroughly enjoy racing like this,' he added.

Although acknowledging there are still aspects to be perfected, mainly in terms of power distribution, Hamilton sees F1 in a positive phase, both in terms of competition and global popularity.

With teammate Charles Leclerc, Hamilton is determined to help Ferrari continue growing and close the gap with their rivals to compete for wins.

'Still a long way to go. But we have a chance, and I'll give everything for this challenge,' he said firmly.
