Logan Webb Shines as Giants Beat Cubs 5-1

Get the latest scoop on the SF Giants and their dominance over the Chicago Cubs. Logan Webb continued his impressive run, going eight innings for the second straight start.

This marks the first time Webb has gone at least eight frames in consecutive outings in his career. The Giants' win is a testament to Webb's stellar performance, which has seen him allow just two earned runs over 27 1/3 innings with 23 strikeouts to four walks.

With his ERA now at 3.46, Webb has been on a roll since returning from the injured list on May 29. His manager, Tony Vitello, has faith in Webb's abilities, and it's clear that the crowd does too.

As Vitello said, "It's been on par with guys like Madison Bumgarner and others in this organization. He's been fun, more than anything." The Giants' third baseman, Matt Chapman, also praised Webb's performance, saying, "When Webby comes out and throws the ball the way he does, you don't feel like you have to get much. He went out there and pitched really well, and when he's on like that, he's as good as anybody."

The win is a significant one for the Giants, who will begin a six-game road trip on Tuesday with games against the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins.
