Luxury Watches Worth 245,000 Euros Stolen Near Monaco in Under an Hour

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, two violent robberies targeting extremely valuable watches took place in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.

In less than an hour, two victims were robbed of their watches, with a combined value estimated at approximately 245,000 euros.

The first incident occurred on Avenue Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Voyage.

A woman who had just parked her vehicle in front of her home and was unloading plants was surprised by an individual who approached her from behind.

According to initial reports, the attacker grabbed her throat before tearing off her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch, estimated to be worth 45,000 euros. The suspect immediately fled the scene and was picked up by an accomplice on a scooter.

Just a few minutes later, on Promenade Robert-Schuman, a man fell victim to a similar robbery. His Richard Mille RM 30-01 watch, valued at around 200,000 euros, was stolen before the perpetrator or perpetrators disappeared.

The proximity in time of the incidents, their location, and the modus operandi used have led investigators to consider the possibility that the same specialized team was responsible for both thefts.

An investigation has been opened to identify the perpetrators of these violent robberies.

During the Monaco Grand Prix, several luxury watches were stolen, with five robberies and attempted thefts recorded. One suspect was convicted, and a 10,000-euro Rolex was recovered, but the investigation is ongoing.

The eastern sector of the Alpes-Maritimes is not typically known for this type of crime.

In Cannes, a recent operation led to the arrest of a team that had stolen a watch worth nearly one million euros during the festival.

The pursuit was like something out of an action movie.

Across the Alpes-Maritimes, 301 stolen watches, including snatch-and-grab robberies and burglaries, resulted in estimated losses of 8.3 million euros in 2024, following 275 stolen watches worth 6.9 million euros in 2023.

Has this form of crime, particularly targeted in the west of the Alpes-Maritimes, shifted to the eastern part of the department? This possibility is not ruled out by investigators, who also consider the hypothesis of a lone team from abroad.

Ringkasan

A series of thefts involving high-value luxury watches has occurred near Monaco, with the perpetrators still at large.
