The match is scheduled to kick off on August 9, 2026, at 7:00 AM, and fans around the world are eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the action.

To be a part of this highly anticipated clash, you can tune in to CBS Sports Golazo Network or catch the live stream on various platforms. But before that, let's take a look at the pre-season form of both teams, which has been a tale of two contrasting stories.

City, under the new management of Enzo Maresca, has been on a mission to rebuild and refresh their squad. The summer has been eventful at the Etihad, with Rodri's prospective departure to Barcelona dominating headlines and the club actively reshaping the squad. This process has seen the emergence of talented young players like Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has rapidly made a name for himself as a force to be reckoned with in the team's attack. The Algerian full-back has been instrumental in City's pre-season tour, scoring his first goal for the club and expressing his ambition to become a regular contributor in front of goal.

The City squad has shown signs of cohesion under Maresca's leadership, but there's no denying that they face stiff competition from their Spanish counterparts, Atletico Madrid, who are also in their pre-season build-up. Diego Simeone's men have been going through a mix of results in their pre-season schedule, with a 4-1 win over Getafe followed by a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United. These results indicate that Atletico is still on the path of refinement and improvement before they embark on the new season.

The Atletico team has also been linked with high-profile transfers, with the potential signing of Tottenham captain Cristian Romero drawing speculation from rival clubs like Arsenal. With the team's transfer market still active, Atletico's roster for this match remains uncertain, making it a crucial opportunity for Maresca to assess his team's strength ahead of the new season.

This match presents an ideal chance for football fans to evaluate where each side stands heading into the new season. The action will not only be a showcase of individual talent but also a test of team chemistry and the quality of squad depth at both clubs.
