Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame Returns with a Twist: Encore Edition to Screen on September 25, 2026

Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame back to theatres before the release of Avengers: Doomsday later this year. However, the re-release will now have a new title. During Disney's presentation at CineEurope in Barcelona, the studio revealed that the film's theatrical return will be called Avengers: Endgame Encore.

According to Deadline, Disney made the announcement while promoting Infinity Vision, its new certification program for premium large-format (PLF) theaters. The studio also confirmed that Avengers: Endgame Encore will feature a "custom introduction, additional new footage, and a special end tag exclusive to Infinity Vision and IMAX releases." Infinity Vision will officially launch alongside the film's theatrical re-release on September 25, 2026.

Disney first announced the return of Avengers: Endgame during its CinemaCon 2026 presentation in April. At the event, co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that the re-release would include brand-new footage. Avengers: Endgame was originally released in 2019 and was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Its follow-up, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to arrive in theaters this December.

The upcoming film will serve as the MCU's fifth Avengers movie and is once again being directed by the Russo brothers. It replaces the previously announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and will see Robert Downey Jr. return to Marvel, this time as Doctor Doom. The film will also bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men on the big screen.

Recently, the Russo brothers dismissed speculation about a secret third Avengers movie. They said that Doomsday and Secret Wars will be a "complete expression" of the story they want to tell. The filmmakers have also described the Marvel Cinematic Universe as being "back to phase zero" heading into Avengers: Doomsday.
