Red Bull Racing's RBPT-powered engine, manufactured in collaboration with Ford, has already undergone a shakedown test at Barcelona. Now, it's time for Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar to put the RB22 to the real test against their competitors.
This intense test session will take place over three days at the Bahrain International Circuit, starting on Wednesday (February 11) and concluding on Friday (February 13).
Verstappen will be busy testing various development areas of the RB22 all day on his assigned days. Hadjar will take over on Thursday (February 12), working tirelessly throughout the day.
For the final session, Verstappen and Hadjar will work in shifts, with Verstappen covering the morning session and Hadjar taking over in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, during this test, Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar will not have the support of Team Principal Laurent Mekies. The Frenchman, 48, is currently recovering from a minor surgery and will manage the team remotely.
However, he will still be able to supervise the team's operations from home and make crucial decisions during the test.
In Barcelona, the RB22 completed around 350 laps, including a series of long runs without any stops. The results left all parties surprised - including Verstappen's rivals - by the RBPT-Ford engine's impressive performance.
