The fourth of July in New York City is a highly awaited celebration, and this year, Mayor Mamdani has announced that 100,000 free tickets will be made available for the public to watch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks from prime viewing areas at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn and the Seaport in Manhattan.
The public lottery for the free tickets is now open at july4.events.nyc and will remain open until June 29 at 11:59 p.m. This is your chance to claim up to four free tickets and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display.
In addition to the ticketed viewing areas at Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Seaport, non-ticketed public viewing areas will be available along the FDR Drive in Manhattan. More information about these viewing locations will be released at july4.events.nyc soon, so stay tuned for updates.
“The Fourth of July is a celebration of America’s birth and the freedom that we enjoy today. It is a time for our nation to reflect on its history and look forward to its future,” said Mayor Mamdani. “We are excited to offer this opportunity for 100,000 New Yorkers to come together and enjoy the fireworks, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our beautiful waterfront spaces.”
Selected lottery winners will receive an email with instructions to claim their tickets and choose a preferred viewing area. Winners may claim up to four tickets, and children younger than 2 do not require a ticket. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this spectacular event, so don’t miss out.
Additional information, including entry points for non-ticketed viewing areas, ADA-accessible viewing areas, and prohibited items, will be available at july4.events.nyc. We encourage you to check back often for updates and to plan your visit to our waterfront spaces.
“Parks and open spaces are not just places to relax, but also where we come together to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories." said NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura. “These shared public spaces have an important purpose in bridging our communities and strengthening our sense of community. By opening our parks and waterfronts for celebrations like this, we ensure they remain vibrant, welcoming, and accessible to everyone.”
“Brooklyn Bridge Park is honored to serve as the gathering place for this iconic New York City tradition," said Brooklyn Bridge Park President Eric Landau. "The Fourth of July fireworks are a celebration of community, public space, and the spirit of our city. Thank you to Mayor Mamdani, our city agency partners, first responders, and the countless individuals working behind the scenes to ensure a safe and memorable experience for all. We look forward to welcoming New Yorkers and visitors alike for an extraordinary evening on the waterfront.”
“We are looking forward to welcoming our community and all New Yorkers to the Seaport for one of the city’s most iconic events," said Matt Partridge, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaport Entertainment Group. “The Seaport’s rich history, energy, and experiences reflect everything that makes New York City unique, and there’s no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July.”
