Mbappé Makes History: France Beats Senegal in the World Cup

Kylian Mbappé made history on Tuesday, scoring twice to break France's World Cup goals record as Les Bleus cruised to a 3-1 win over Senegal.

The 24-year-old forward opened his 2026 World Cup account in style, netting his 18th goal in the tournament's history and surpassing the record previously held by French legend Thierry Henry.

The match marked a memorable night for Mbappé, who has been in sparkling form for France and has now become the country's all-time leading scorer in World Cup history.

France's victory was their third win in three group-stage matches, putting them firmly on course to progress to the knockout phase of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Senegal's defeat has left them with a mountain to climb if they are to make it to the next round.
