The 2026 World Cup has kicked off, bringing together talented players and experienced managers vying for the ultimate trophy. Among the notable coaches are Carlo Ancelotti, Thomas Tuchel, Didier Deschamps, and Mauricio Pochettino, all with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

Just like the players, the debate surrounding the coaches' salaries has been ongoing. We take a closer look at the best-paid coaches at the World Cup 2026, according to recent reports.

Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Martinez, both seasoned World Cup veterans, share the fifth spot with significant experience between them. Cannavaro led Italy as captain in 2006, while Martinez guided Belgium's Golden Generation to a third-place finish in 2018.

An intriguing matchup will occur in Group K as Cannavaro and Martinez face off. The other teams in this group include Colombia and DR Congo.

Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea boss, is tasked with leading England to their first major trophy since 1966. His selection process has already sparked controversy. Tuchel's contract extends until Euro 2028, as entrusted by the FA. In the group stage, The Three Lions will face Ghana, Panama, and Croatia.

Mauricio Pochettino, who joined the USA in 2024 after leaving Chelsea, started their campaign on a high note with a 4-1 win over Paraguay. The USA has games against Australia and Turkey to reach the knockout stage.

Second on the list is Julian Nagelsmann, who aims to draw Germany level with Brazil as the most successful country in the competition's history. Germany commence their campaign against Curacao before facing Ivory Coast and Ecuador.

At the top of the pile is the most successful manager of all time, Carlo Ancelotti. A five-time Champions League winner, Ancelotti debuted in the World Cup with a lackluster 1-1 draw against Morocco. He still has games against Scotland and Haiti to navigate in his quest for his team's sixth crown.

Surprisingly, reigning champion Lionel Scaloni ranks 14th at KSh 345 million per year, according to Finance Football.

Argentina, the defending champions, will face stiff competition from the reigning European champions, Spain. Meanwhile, France enters as the highest-ranked country heading into the tournament.
